Community Translations

If you want to create a fan translation of the game, you probably already know how to extract all the text and dialogue. If you don’t, learn how to do “unsanctioned” translations in Ren’Py first.

The game has fonts for multiple script types embedded (from version 0.50 onwards). You only need to specify the font file in your translation strings; there is no need to try to inject font files yourself. For Latin script languages, such as English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish, you use the default font that the game uses. You might need to tweak the size of the text to fit the speech bubble and other UI elements like the smartwatch and smartphone. I did not intensively test each script for all UI elements. All font types support Arabic numerals (0-9).

You can find all fonts in the folder “fonts”. Refer to the table below for other writing scripts and their corresponding font filenames:

Script TypeFont File
Arabicfonts/ui_font_arabic.ttf
Chinese (Simplified)fonts/ui_font_chinese.ttf
Cyrillicfonts/ui_font_alt.ttf
Japanese (Kanji, Hiragana & Katanana)fonts/ui_font_japanese.ttf
Koreanfonts/ui_font_korean.ttf
Thaifonts/ui_font_thai.ttf
